Unhappy Manufacture Month

Would you advise me of the month of manufacture of my 1972 350SL VIN10704412003657 and also the fuel injection system model/type.
The car is a recent US import and has the 4.5L motor despite the 350 badging.
The engine has a bad miss, which sounds like the ignition leads are on the wrong cylinders.( I have checked & this in not the problem) The car is drivable but under powered. The mixture appears to be rich.
I have changed the plugs but this did not solve the problem and also checked the plug leads.
Any idea on where to start on finding the fault?Regards
Russell.

The month and year isn't listed on the tag that is on the drivers door frame?
