Exclamation 190e 2.3-16V oil pressure

Hi, recently we have been having some warm weather(about 80degrees), and when my 16V idles for a little bit in the Tim Hortons drivethru or the stop lights, the oil pressure is hovering between 2 and 3. When I'm driving its at 3. My question is, is it normal to be moving between 2-3 in warm weather? Because in the winter time it never moved off of 3. Thanks!

Typical hot idle oil pressure is 1.5 bar in mild weather and 1.0 bar in hot weather. MB says idle pressure as low as 0.3 bar is acceptable.

The gage should peg at 3 bar by 1500-2000 revs.

My understanding is that for the 16V engine, 3 bar should be present always!!

All my other cars are ok above 0 bar at idle, though they are all above 1 bar at idle right now.

The owner's manual says at least 0.3 bar.
But, the 190Revolution site is full of references to 3 bar always. My 16V is at 3 bar always, whereas my two 126 cars both idle at about 1.5 bar and jump up to 3 bar just off idle.

I trust the MB manual for this kind of stuff, I've never seen anything documented for the 16v that says 3 always. When I got my 16v it always kept 3 bar untill I had the TC tensioner updated-it dropped a 1/3rd of a bar then, and dropped another 2/3rds after i tore off the front cover again a few months ago, so i'm around 2 bar at 100c oil temp. My pet theory? Every time you twist the (20+ year old) rubber hoses that lead from the cooler, they break down a little on the inside, and restrict the flow after the oil thermostat opens up. Maybe someday i'lll put money where my mouth is and replaces the two hoses.

cheers,
dan
