Gear-/diff oil additives?
Fella's,
Lately, the manual gearbox of my Nissan sometimes emits a soft scraping noise when idling in neutral and the clutch pedal up. Noise disappears when clutch pedal is pressed. I reckon it's a bearing of the primary shaft. I was wondering if adding an additive based on PTFE or Molybdenum Disulphide will help to quiet the bearing. I realise it won't cure the underlying problem, but it may postpone an expensive repair for the time being. What do you think? THANKS

I think you have a throwout bearing that needs replacing.
I wouldn't use PTFE on anything except your kids big wheel.
