Coil Spring Compressor
Does anyone have the proper tool for removal of the front springs on a 560sl? I know that some believe that you can use an Autozone tool or you don't even need a tool, but I'd rather play it safe. I'd like to rent it from someone since I only plan on doing my control arm bushings once and don't want to spend $600 on a tool.
TIA, Steve |

In most MBs there isn't room to compress the springs by gripping the coils from outside. You need the less common spring tool that is comprised of two plates and a lead screw that pulls the plates together.

I think George Murphy also rents the correct compressor. He's in the STAR every month.
