new to mercedes, some repair questions
I'm an automotive hobbyist, I've built 2 (86 and 87) Monte Carlo SS's from scratch..... including paint and body. I worked in a garage for awhile and have repaired all kinds of makes and models...... so needless to say I consider myself a mechanic. Through all my experience I have never dealt with mercedes.
My girlfriend has a 95 E320. It was involved in a fender bender and I get the lovely task of repairing it. Where is the paint code on this car? Can I replace the bumper cover without worrying about airbag sensors? The core support was bent slightly on the passenger side. The fenders are unharmed, and the hood still opens and closes properly....... but it will be replaced. I have found 2 different parts listed online, radiator support and upper radiator support. Is the support a bolt in piece or weld in? Can I just remove the upper and replace it since it is the only part that is bent? Also, the passenger side headlight wiper arm is broken. Does anyone know where I can get this piece, or any of the parts for that manner. I'm looking for least expensive but still good quality, as it is not my car. |

The paint code is on the data plate in front of the radiator - assuming it's still there. It's a three digit number, usually followed by a letter, and usually towards the left side of the plate. You can confirm the number at paintscratch.com.
