Loose/Broken OBDII Connector
Hi guys,
I am having some bad luck with my car at the moment and would appreciate any help on this. I did a search and did not find a similar issue. I have a 1997 C36 which just triggered the CEL. I do have an OBDII scanner, and was planning to pull the code(s) and see what's up, BUT I found that my OBDII port under my dash seems to be broken and/or loose on the car. It appears the connector is moving freely inside the dash instead of being connected to the frame under the dash. So basically when you open the OBDII door, you see an nice opening instead of the connector! When I fish around with my fingers I can feel the connector. It seems to be broken as it feels like multiple pieces. Is it possible to repair this part? If so, would anyone have the part# handy? Also, to get to the part, what is the procedure to remove the bottom part of the dash in order to access the OBDII port? I see some screws....do i just undo them? Thanks!!! Christian |
