My interior lights are always on

I have searched and searched but cannot find anything that sounds similar. I have a 1986 300 SDL and recently my interior lights and seat belt lights won't go off. The interior light stays on unless I switch the position to the off position only, but then the seat belt light blinks until I turn the key off then on again, I have had to get a jump start 2 times this week alone. Please help if any is possible

Thank you
Dar

Also check your fuses...

I had an overhead light that flashed on and off a little...mostly on... and some other symptoms that I cant remember... turned out to be a fuse (on my 124). I cant remember which fuse either but it shouldnt be to hard to find if thats it.

Good luck.

Did you check the switch in the door? Your car still thinks the door is open? I would check that too. Good luck!

There are 4 positions on that switch. The "upside down sun" should be the only position with the door open that the light comes on and also flashes the seat belt indicator lamp.
Set your switch to the "O" position and see if you have the same results. If you do the little copper contact strip has come out of its track and is keeping the switch in the closed position.

Thank you

I am going to try all suggestions and see what fixes this problem. I have looked at the fuses and none seem bad, i am missing the fuse for the alarm, the reason for that is because it keeps blowing... another electrical problem.. that one i believe is the power antenna tho because I can hear that.

Thank you to all who replied, I will post what the fix was

Dar
