It's located on the passenger side of the transmission just above the transmission pan.

I've done a few in the car, never had the piston get stuck like that.. What have you done to give yourself more room to manuver in there?

Ok, I just got mine out. I had to muscle it out with a crow bar. It was really stuck. Now I'm trying to get the seal out...it seems pressed in but I can't knock it out from behind.

Just curious, how did you use a crow bar to get it out??
I am thinking about using a slide, but I am worried about metal chips getting in the tranny from drilling the tap hole. |

I used the curved end of the crow bar and stuck it through what was left of the piston and using the case as leverage and applied steady force...it eventually yielded although sideways at first. At this point my next problem was removing the seal that holds the bushing in. I basically just deformed it using a thin screw driver and hammer. It was a bear. I've finished it however and will test drive tomorrow.

The B2 piston is probably stuck / seize on the aluminum bushing. Try tapping the piston in to free it up. If that does not work, the valve body has to be removed and some persuasion used. Once the valve body is removed you can easily remove the seal and bushing.
If you can not remove the piston seal from the exterior easily, then with a screwdriver as a chisel crush the seal into its center it should pop out then. |

I did everything but replace the metal bushing. I had the plastic replacement, but I didn't feel like going through the extra work. Is it nessecary to replace it? Who has left the metal one in?
