Hello everyone. I have a 1995 S600 Coupe. I just had my rear sun shade stop retracting. The motor is running and trying to pull the upright support bars in, but the one on the drivers side does not move. I have to manually push it in and have someone hold down the button in order to get it to retract.

I took it in for service for other items at the M/B dealer and asked for an estimate to fix it. They say that they do not repair them other than replacing the motors. They would have to order a complete assembley which is $800 plus 4-5 hours of labor. WOW. A little too much for me at this time for just a sun screen.

I do want to fix it properly, since I am one of those crazy people that want my Benz to be in perfect condition and have everything working. I usually can figure out how to get to any component, but this one has me stumped.

As far as I can tell, you have to dissassemble the whole back cabin. (Please say it isn't so) Then, I need info on how to repair the screen assembly, & if it is repairable where can I get spare parts?

Please help. All input and info is appreciated.
