Catastrophic Tranny Leak (W124 M119)

Part number 126 277 09 03 is totally loose; It can be rotated 360 degrees with little effort. It can be pushed in and out 1/4 -1/2 inch. Upon pushing it in, there is a distinct *squishing* noise, as if its moving air and oil kind of like a hand pump. The reason I was under the car is because I have observed huge puddles of transmission oil under the car.

Also, if you sink it all the way in, it will stay down. If I then start the car for a min and then turn it off, when I go back under the car and look, the part is back to its “normal” position. Its as if it has been pressurized or something and pushed out.

Look in the PICT (large,1600x1200). The red arrow is the part in question. The yellow arrow is part number 126 277 25 03. That part is tight, secure, and dry. The Green arrow points toward the front of the car.

What is going on and what do I do?
