How hard is changing ABS speed sensor?

87 300 E. My R front(passenger side) ABS speed sensor cable is bad. How easy is it to change sensors? Is it intuitive where the new upgraded brackets go? Is there a way to fix the cable and not but a whole new sensor?

I own a 126 car with the same motor as yours. It's amazing just how similar things are under the hood on 126 cars with the 103 motor and 124 cars with same.

That said, I will tell you the passenger side is a lot easier to do than the driver side.

My 2 cents.

Go for it.

What about removing a sensor?

I tried to remove an ABS sensor and could not do it. I tried heating the outside and cooling the inside bu I was sure I would destroy it if I tried any harder and found a way to get around it but I still want to know if there is a way to remove them. At $180 each...

Steve:

Are you speaking of the connection at the wheel? If so, I sprayed with PB Blaster first and let it soak a good while. After I got the 5mm allen head out, I twisted from side to side repeatedly and sprayed a little more into it as it began to pull up. Eventually it popped out.
