95 C280 A/c
Car stored for winter and the system was all running fine at that time. Now clutch does not engage and compressor fails to kick in with the AC system on. Not blowing cold at all.
PBU and blower both running normally. All buttons responded accordingly. EC light never came on. New Receiver-dryer installed 8 months ago. System tested for leak and found to be o.k. System fully charged - low side pressure within range. Ran diagnostics thru PBU, all readings appeared normal - Evaporator Temperature Sensor standing at 16C with engine off (consistent with ambient temperature). No belt slippage detected Checked fuses and all appeared functioning. Tried short High/Lower Pressure Sensor/Switch with and without engine running and AC on but to no avail. Compressor turning freely by hand, no sign of a seized compressor. Auxiliary fans did not come in when A/C was switched on. Checked compressor power connector and found no power reading with the engine running and AC on. Questions: Is there a Klima Relay or a Strip Fuse installed in this model? If so, where are they installed? Where is the relay controlling the compressor/clutch located? Would like to induce 12V DC power directly to compressor to see if it can activate the clutch, which one of the three pins on the compressor connector is the right one for this purpose? What is a probable diagnosis for this problem? Thanks in advance. |
