Hard Braking - now shakes
Another car pulled out in front of me, and I had to hit the brakes very hard to avoid an accident.
Now when I brake, I feel a shaking. I tried to isolate if it is coming from the front or rear, but I am not sure. The steering wheel does not vibrate, nor do I notice any difference in steering when I am braking - even though the shake is present. It feels like warped rotors, and I suspect the rear rotors are warped (the previous owner had the front brakes replaced, and I checked them about a month ago and they looked fine). When I come to a gradual stop, it feels like I am braking a little bit more - then less - then more - then less, even though I maintain steady pressure on the brake pedal. Cyclical. Any ideas what to look at? I do as much DIY as I can. This is a 1982 MB 240D with 186k miles. Thanks, - Patrick
