94 S500 Windows Shot, Only Shattered

Some nuckle head kids shot either a pellet gun, bb, or .22 at my drivers front window on my 94 s500. The outer glass shatterred, yet the inner was untouched. When i got the new glass put in, i started noticing a hissing sound as i drove down the highway. I noticed that on the outside, the glass is not totally flush with the door molding that is just perpendicular to the door handle. I took it back to the place and the guy said the channel was shifted and he reglued/polyurethaned it back into place. A week later, my window shifted again and the guy today is saying i might need a new window regulator. What do you guys think the problem is? What exactly is a regulator? Another characteristic is that when the window is halfway down, i can manually move it back and forth and shift it back to its proper sealed position, yet when i roll the window down and it comes back up it shifts maybe half a cm forward again...Please advise.

Sounds like either the window channel liner is partially missing and/or one of the fasteners is missing.....and that may have happened when it was replaced.

It definitely sounds like a sloopy replacement job.

Now the guy is asking for a regulator, maybe to cover the costs of what he REALLY needs to fix due to his mistake when he originally installed the new window.

I would get a second opinion from a well known source and go back to the original guy and make a formal complaint (if my theory proves correct).
