outside temp display

can anyone tell me how to remove the outside temp display from my 91 190e 2.6? do i have to remove the cluster first. i believe i have a broken solder joint. no display, but if i push on the right side, get display. was going to take out and chk the solder joints but can't get it to come out.

To service the temp display does require removing the cluster. In the picture, the display unit is the wired unit in the center of the rear of the cluster.

About 2 weeks ago my display stopped working for a few days. Then it resumed, but it was very dim. Now it it back to nromal; any ideas?

the light bulb is probably dying or not properly connected. Take out your cluster and the temp gauge and check the bulb inside of it.
