98 E320 A/C problem & fault code meaning
A/C won't come on, compressor doesn't even appear to try to engage. Reading past threads on fault code on brought up EB1234- sun sensor & EB1235 ( emissions sensor). I don't what this is clearly telling me. Have I gone far enough that one of these sensors are the problem? If so where are they located

I don't know what those codes mean, but generally the compressor doesn't kick in if the freon is too low. Get the pressure checked and ensure you have sufficient oil in the system to protect the compressor. If it has correct pressure it could be your pressure switch, you can test it, the circuit should be closed if the pressure is correct, that is on the drier. If those prove to be ok, then check your compressor clutch operation, put 12 volts to it and it should lock, do this without the engine running. I would check these things first as I don't have any idea what those others could mean since they are so vague, are they from a generic manual? Or an MB publication? Check those items first. I don't think the emissions system should cause failure of AC, and a sun sensor? I didn't think they had those in cars of that vintage, I know the newer ones will sense the sun and adjust the AC according to the level of sunlight in the passenger area somehow, not sure about a 98. Good luck!

AC issue
Quote:
No, economy light doesn't stay on. On see a past thread that covers that warning issue.
