Can anyone please help me and indicate how to remove the covers on the license plate bulbs for a W210. I've taken the truck handle off as per the owners manual but the covers didn't come off with the handle as the manual would have you to believe.

I've tried sliding, prying, levering with light to medium force but nothing seems to work.

Previous searches here and here on this topic didn't come up with any results either.

Say What You Mean, Do What You Say

You have to go from inside the trunk.
1. Remove liner by removing black plastic fasteners.
2. Reach trough the opening and remove the bulb.
3. Install new bulb.
