OK, the brake dust from the factory pads is truly unbelievable!

Does anyone know if there are aftermarket pads available yet? For example, I've used Axxis/PBR Deluxe and Metalmaster pads in my Porsches and BMWs for years, with great results (stopping the same as factory pads, very low rotor wear), and with little or no brake dust (at least 90%+ less brake dust than OEM pads). I would love if these were available for the new C.

Also, I've heard that EBC Green pads are available. Does anyone have any experience with those? I think they are Kevlar, but I don't know if that's good or bad for a grocery getter street car.

Thanks!

Brian:

I've been using EBC "Green Stuff" pads on the front wheels of my 94 E320 wagon for about 3 or 4 months now. They produce some dust, but nowhere near as much as OEM pads. Braking seems to be as good or better, and they don't squeal as long as you install them properly (using brake pad paste in the right places). They show very little wear so far, so I am satisfied with their performance. At the same time I put Axxis Metalmaster pads on my wife's 300E and they have also performed very well, with less dust (I think) than the EBCs, and no squeal. The question then becomes which of the two is more rotor friendly and I don't have an answer for that.

Hope this helps

I called EBC, and they don't make the 2001 C pads yet. PBR/Axxis does not either.
Does anyone know if the calipers on the new C are the same as any of the existing models?
Thanks.
