C280 '94 new owner concerns...
Hi All,
I decided to pick this car up as my '87 260E needs a break. I've read that there are some issues with head gasket and wiring harness with these cars (M104 engine). Can anyone tell me if these are MB recall items? I'm not quite sure how to go 'bout addressing these early before they fail. Thanks... Andrew

Recall items are SAFETY related! Those items arent't.
OF course the wiring issue has been subject on this forum since it started! YOU can forget about MB paying for a 10 year old part problem. The wiring harness date is clearly marked with the part number under the cover at the right rear of the engine compartment. AT least 75% of the bio-degradable ones have already been replaced!
