Replaced leaking EHA & plugs... 86 300E still running rough..
I had sincerely hoped that replacing the leaky EHA valve on my 86 300E would solve the running issues. No such luck...
The engine still have a rythmic 'miss' (galloping?) at idle, and stumbles badly when I punch the gas. The engine only smooths out above 4K RPM. The car is essentially undriveable, since any load on the engine causes it to stumble and stall. I know the O2 sensor is bad, and I have a replacement that I will install soon. Beyond that, is there anything else I can do solve this problem? For reference, the following parts have been replaced: -EHA Valve -Spark plugs -Cap, rotor & wires -Fuel filter -Air filter The coolant temp sensor checked our OK I've read a few threads about probing Pin 3 of the X11 connector. Will this tell me anything about my car? I've heard the term Lambda mentioned... does this apply to my car (86 300E?) Thanks, Mika |

If you merely replaced the EHA, you're not done yet.
Go to the following URL, then select "evaluate electronic engine controls". There is a do-it-yourself section at this site. That's what I'm pointing out. http://www.peachparts.com/Wikka/DoItYourSelf

Great link, thanks!
On my car, should I see the 70%/30% duty cycle with Key On/Engine Off? What should I see with the engine running? I'm not sure how this Lambda thing plays into things, since mine is an older car. Mika Quote:
