Smell from tint removal

I keep hearing that the best agent to remove old window tint is ammonia. Are we talking about Windex or real ammonia? Seems the right time of year to try the recipe.

Question is, how to get the smell out of the car after baking ammonia for a few hours?

I would have left the windows open for a few days...and draped a tarp over the car if rain was in the forcast to allow it to air out.

This is one of those rare times that I thought of asking BEFORE I did the deed. And it has rained every day all month. Will airing out be sufficient to remove the smell?

It should...do the tarp over the car so you can air it out unless you have a car port or carage. Trick is to air it out before the odor settles into the upolstry and carpets.

I used a razor scraper...and used windex. Amonia might have worked faster but I had none.
