The car had a cooling fan faulton the display and started overheating. upon looking at the car, i found the fan was indeed not running but was trying to. i replaced the fan and it now runs, but very slowly and not enough to cool the car. i have checked fuses, wiring ect. i pulled the gauge fusues to see if the fan would turn on high as i have read it should do and it did nothing more than it was already doing. i had this error come up last year and took it to the shop without even looking at the car first and they ran diagnostics on it and said it was working perfectly and i never got the error again until last week and it actually got hot so i knew something was definitely wrong this time. is there something that controls the spped of the fan or something i may be overlooking. i will do anything i can as long as i can avoid the rude people at the dealership in baton rouge (i sure miss my dealership in san antone

There is a relay that provides the step up voltage in the fuse box. You will have to unscrew the cover and lift it off because the relay is located under it. It is the one closest to the fender and I believe has 4 plugs attatched to it. If I remember correctly the plug for the fans are in the "D" location, to verify look at the wires for the fan and check them at the relay. If I was at my shop I could give you the exact colors.

hi thanks for the info, here is what i have found. i pulled the cover and took out the bos with all the relays on to , underneath is the module 210 545 03 32 the two relays on the left top of the module are iin location d and f. d is 5 blade (yellow), f is a 4-blade (black). also something else strange. i accidently found that if i pulled fuse 41 the fan sped up but still not enough to cool. none of the wires connecting to the module underneath are the same as connecting to the relay box. they are larger wires and are black and brown with a white stripe. so does the 210 545 03 32 module control the fan or the relay above. what should i look into replacing. the parts man at my local dealership was adament there was no cooling module on the car (they are too friendly and helpful here )
Thanks again for all the help Doug |

i typed something wrong, the wires on the fan are not the same as any going to the module or relays. the fan has the larger wires, brown and black. nothing under the relay is the same.

Got it fixed, the pulse relay under the left headlight was the culprit. it was damaged in an accident a few years ago and they just 'glued' it together and it worked all this time.
Thanks again Doug ![]() |
