How to service 99 C230 with Low milage?
A few months ago I purchased my first Mercedes, a 99 c230 sport from a woman that returned it to the lease company. It has 30,000 Miles or 50,000kms, and Service A was done last Feb at 35,000kms, or 20000 Miles. The FSS light turned on and she brought it in. She didn't drive it much because she doesn't like driving and bought Mercedes for the safety features.
Other than a few small quirks, the car is mint and looks almost new. I have been reading up on maintence and stuff and I am wondering what I should do.
On one hand the car is 6 years old and according to the "book" I should change all the fluids, filters, battery, and plugs and do Service B (seems expensive)
On the other hand the car wasn't used that much, and I feel comfortable just changing the oil, oil filter and plugs on my own. What about the rest? Can someone make a recommendation has to what other regular maintence would be helpful taking into consideration the low milage?
My last car was a Camry, so all I did was change the oil, bring it to the shop to get the brakes done when I heard squeaking, or muffler going, and the occasional fluid flush as recommended by the mechanic. I am not used to this Service A and B stuff. I am use to bring my car to the shop for a repair, have the mechanic do an inspection and telling me what needs to be fixed and I get to choose what I want to pay for, and the rest I DIY or leave it. Does Mercedes do this?
