HELP! With my new 280s!

Hello All,

I am a new owner of a 1969 280s with 88,000 miles. I purchased the car for $4,000 from friends of my family who were the original owner of the car since new. The car is basically in fabulous shape. The exterior is flawless with NO rust visible in all the common spots and the interior looks like it just drove off of the showroom floor. I do howvwer have an oil leak coming from the oil cooler and not the hoses. Where can I find a new or recored oil cooler and for how much? Also, the muufler and connecting pipes are beginning to show there age, where is the best spot to purchase a new muffler and pipes. Other than the oil leak this car starts, drives and handles like a real dream and it seems that $4k seems to be at the upper end of the price spectrum for these. Please don't tell me that i overpaid! Any other tips or maintenance concerns for this beautiful carb 280s.

Thank you in advance,

David

That car should last a long time as long as you don't try to drive all of the time!

The best way to find oil leaks is cleaning the area & then spraying with POWDER. DON'T clean(wash) the complete engine!

You might find a used oil cooler, a new one lists for $430!
