1987 190e 2.3 water pump / temp sensor???

I am having trouble with a water pump I just replaced. I took off the bad and put on a refurbished GRAF water pump, part # 102 200 50 01 The trouble I am having is that the old temperature sensor that came from the old pump does not fit in to the new pump. The threads on my old sensor are 14mm X 1.5, it seems that the new pumps threads are 18mm X 1.5 I called mercedes/dealer and they only have the same sensor for my year 190e (87) 14mm. Should I just get a different pump? I can't find an adapter of some sort that can join the smaller threads to the larger thread opening at this point that is metric, can someone please help??

It's been awhile since I did ours, but it seems familiar that I got an adapter along with the new water pump. I would call your pump source and they should be able to supply it.

I got it

The girl at the parts counter said she had spoke with all these mechs and none of them knew of a solution. On my third attempt with the dealer I finally reached someone who knew what part I needed, so if you have the same problem with a pump replacement anyone be persistent, Mercedes does make an adapter for the temperature sensor to the pump.........
