oil leaks

1982 300SD
The turbo oil return line is leaking around the little O-ring on top of pan. Are there any better designs to replace with and how do I replace it?
Also, on the driver side of engine there is a mysterious fume and oil leak, can't pinpoint it, I need to clean it really good first for the oil leak but the fume thing is really strange. can anyone help I?
thanks zach
