What kind of glue should I use?

Hello,

I have an 87 300E (124) and the lighted mirror assembly falls out of my sun visor every time I put it down, and hangs there from the wires. I took advantage of the opportunity to replace the broken mirror with one that I found in a local junk yard, and want to properly affix the assembly into the visor. Common sense tells me that using a hot glue gun type glue wouldn't work cause the glue will soften when it gets hot (and it gets quite hot here in Florida). I've thought of plain ol' rubber cement, but thought I'd see if anyone had any other suggestions before I attempt it.

Thanks

A two-part epoxy with 5 minute setup would work. Comes in clear, and can be bought at Ace or other hardware stores.

A small bottle of contact cement with the brush attached to the cap may be a fine choice for this repair. Brush a liberal amount of cement on both surfaces, let stand 5 minutes then attach the two items.

I think the assembly must be removable to change a burned out bulb. If so, then the adhesive can't be permanent.

Mark
