W140 replacing steering idler kit
When reassembling the steering idler (bushing) parts, what kind of lubricant should be used, if any?

If you are referring to lubricant to install the bushings for the idler arm bushings, I use grease that I purchased from the pluming store designed for rubber and heat. It’s used for lubing rubber facet fittings during installation.
I’m unsure if my “pluming” lubricant is necessary, but I’ve been always been concerned about using certain petroleum based product with rubber fittings in fear it will degrade the rubber over time. .
