Mercedes-Benz offers two-year warranty for passenger cars and vans throughout Europe
Stuttgart, 09/12/2005 - DaimlerChrysler is introducing a two-year warranty for new passenger cars and vans throughout Europe, effective retroactively from September 1, 2005. The warranty is issued by the respective national subsidiary and is valid from the day the vehicle is delivered or when the automobile is first registered. The warranty is valid in all member states of the European Union as well as in Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland.
In line with the company’s warranty terms and conditions, the new regulation is not subject to a mileage limit, thus providing Mercedes-Benz customers with even more security. The guaranteed services apply to privately and commercially utilized vehicles from Mercedes-Benz.

Looks like MB is finally getting its house in order. Will MBUSA follow next?

MB europe HAS been trailing US(A) for yeays!
MBUSA has added warranty to their cars since 1984!!!!!!
USA warranty is 4yr OR 50K miles.

Canadian warranty is 4 years or 80K-kms, but also has a major component warranty that goes to 5 years 120,000 kilometers included.

Not sure if this is still the case... in US, 4-years' scheduled maintenance is included 'free of charge' (or actually, built into the selling price)... in Canada, not included.

MB discontinued "free maintenance" after the 2004 model year, but the warranty is still 4Y/50K. The dealer told me they were faced with either canceling the free maintenance or raising prices (more)...I guess they didn't think customers would figure out that eliminating free maintenance is, in fact, a price increase.
