injector line leak

Hello,
I have a 87 300 SDL with 18900 miles. I started to smell fuel the other day and have found a leak at the injector line.
It is spraying out between the line and the compresion nut. The nut seems snug so I do not want to over tighten it.
I backed the nut off and tightened it back down but it still sprays. Is the line bad? If so is there a good site someone could
recommend to but the line and other parts?
Thank you for your time
Michael

Exclamation

on the early OM601/602/603 diesel motors the metal lines were fragile & broke all of the time. the replacement ones have been modified!

You need a new line

The fuel is spraying from a fatigue crack in your fuel line. Check to be sure that all the lines are cliped to their brackets. You can order a new line, clips and probable pads from Fastlane. Call them, as I don't think the individual lines show up in their online ordering system.

My 84 300 SD is leaking on the front injector. Not spraying, just slight leak onto head.Do I need a new line? Will it break and leave me stranded or will it just continue to leak? Any fire hazard?

Replace the line. Fastlane/Phil can get you any Mercedes part you can come up with.

Overtime don't forget to check the drip return lines first. They will leak and cover the injector with fuel oil.
