Well...just remember, a 300SE or SEL is a big, heavy car with a 3.0 liter engine. If it didn't rev a bit, it'd be a real slug.

Thanks. Yes, it was ultra smooth, so I could live with the higher RPMs.
I really liked the car. The only issue I knew of was the "SRS" warning lamp was illuminated. Something that I have heard could be a costly repair. The car did not appear to have been in a accident before, so perhaps a bad sensor? He said something about it comes on after so many years for service? |

Two comments...
concerning someone who posts questions without owning an MB...that does not bother me. I learn tons of stuff from the answers...even dumb questions will sometimes generate answers that I did not know...I love this forum. shifting...I learned from this forum the trick of shifting down to 2nd before you take off...shift up to third....when you feel the shift from 1st to 2nd..you drop the shifter back down to 2nd to lock it in....my experience driving this car has never been the same since that tip. I now get to enjoy the rpm range properly without having to be a lead foot....which seems to be the only way to enjoy that type of shifting when you just stay in "D" how does this relate to this thread? uh...Its about trannies? ![]() ![]()
