560SL Fuel Low Level Switch, Repirable ???
Gentelmen
I have a 1988 560SL with an inoprative low level fuel sensor switch. The switch is located inside the fuel level sender. I would like to know if this component can be taken appart and serviced like all the rest of the relays in the car that go bad and need to be re-soldered. John Roncallo |

Looking at the unit on Fastlane, it looks very similar in design to the 300Td unit. I have had the 300TD unit apart and cleaned it. take the unit out and remove the lower bolt. slowly remove the cover and then I used carb cleaner to completely clean the wires and floating contact unit for the lower level light unit.
Be careful of the wires once apart there are small diameter wires and could break easily. Dave
