1987 W126 420SE V8 revs at about 1600rpm at tickover / idle. Need to know what to adjust to bring it down a bit, as I do not want to mess with the fuel injection without some direction. Thanks

You will need to check what system is failing. It could be the throttle switch, idle valve, or controller for the idle. I would have a pro look at this. I have seen many misdiagnoses over this complaint.
