W201 brake question

I was going to replace the front disks and pads on my 87 190 last night, but noticed my Hanes manual suggests the caliper and guide pin bolts are not reusable. Any opinions on the accuracy of this? I have never run into this issue on any of my Japanese or domestic cars but don't want to compromise safety. If this is necessary does anyone know the bolt grades and sizes?

thanks

If you buy German brake pads, they will come with new caliper bolts.

Mercedes specifies this replacement chiefly, I believe, because the bolts arrive with loctite already applied. They're afraid you won't put loctite on.

thanks Kent, makes sense in a Mercedes sort of way, since I already have the pads and rotors I think I will use the old bolts with new loctite.

Thanks for your response

Clean the old stuff really well ( wirebrush, followed with a quick spray of brakecleaner ), and then apply a bit of loctite.
