Question 98' C280 waterpump replacement-How to?

I need to replace the water pump on a 98 C280 V6 due to the pulley wobbling (i't not leaking that I can tell, however the wobble causes the belt to squeel). I did a search and found some information but since I have no repair manual, any tips, especially detailed instructions, and the need of any specialized tools would be very appreciated.

I don’t know if removing the radiator is necessary or not. I plan on buying a new belt and would like anyone’s recommendations on other parts I should replace while I’m in there. The original harmonic balancer has not yet been replaced, but I do plan on having that done very soon by the dealer under the recall. I asked about reduced labor if they replaced the water pump with the harmonic balancer, but was told there was no reduced labor. The charge for water pump replacement quoted is $725 with $340 for the parts (water pump, gasket and 1 gal coolant).

Also any preference on water pump brands; Graf Vs. Hepu?
Here on Shopforum’s Fastlanes parts the Graf is $133.26 while the Hepu is $162.20.

Thanks in advance,
MarkC

Anyone?

Anyone replaced the water pump on their C280 with the V6 engine?

Or at least any where on the web where I can get the instructions, specifically for the V6 in the C-class?

TIA,
Mark
