124/104 Surge in Reverse

So...the new harness and some other things fixed the car right up. Though, when I put the car in reverse it ocassionally surges so badly the car begins to speed up and then drops to the point the car feels like it is going to stall. It's as though a new driver were backing up in reverse (it goes faster than alsmost stops dead). This all happens w/o me touching the gas. It almost never does this in drive. And all of this happened prior to the changes, so it is seemingly unrelated. Any thoughts?
