Dash warning lights illuminate when you turn on the ignition? Sounds like a main fuse, but the radio part is strange.

ignition switch

I don't know, but it sure sounds like you've got problems in the ignition body; some open connections (for starting), at least one shorted to the power in on the radio connection. Does the blower work?

You need to check the fuse box(s) for the correct power supply with the key on & with the key off.

If the ignition switch doesn't supply the fuse box correctly then YOU can have those problems.

Could be a fault in the alarm system, neutral safety switch, and is the car really in PARK? I think I read somewhere that there is a fuse, perhaps the fuse for the cigar lighter, that if blown will prevent the car from starting.

Didn't suggest that you see if they are good! But if they POWER-UP when key comes on & power down with key off! Front & rear fuse boxes.
The radio on/off signal comes from fuse 22, but must go thru the combination relay first.

the fuses all power-up when the key is on and power-down when off. Radio turned off but came on after 5 min without the key.
