The rear window defroster on my 560 SEL is not working. I The light on the rocker switch comes on and the fuse is OK but the window is not heating. Is there anyh\thing else I can check?

Thanks
MarcP

Educated guess

Not familiar with the specifics of your vehicle but, in general, rear defroster (and other high current) circuits use a relay to minimize the circuitry requiring heavy wire. If yours turns itself off, it almost certainly uses a relay. Sometimes the location can be found in the glovebox manual.

Is your rear window delaminating? Look for a milky white appearance at the lower corners of the glass. If this is severe enough to extend to the rwd grid, it can play havoc with the system.
