Name this part....pls

Any idea what this part is? Its from a 190e 1990 2.6 Instrument Cluster.

It is a fuse on the instrument cluster

Right! But for what? I suppose my questions should have been "What is this and what does it do and why is it there and why is it blown?"

Protects the printed circuit board! The fuse is for the instrument cluster LIGHTS as well as all of the lights in the switches & a/c controls!

Yeh, leave the ground strap loose or off the engine and see what would happens to the cluster without that fuse. Earlier model MBs didn't have that fuse. Please don't ask me how I know all this

OK I wont ask you... Alright....I learned a lot about Mercedes ingenuity while taking the dash apart. I mean they were using fiber optic cable to light up switches on the dash!!! and this was 16 years ago!!!
