Clunk when downshifting. 94 w124
Hi,
I've been hearing this sound each time the car slows to about 10kmph. Also noticed a Hard shift into D from P R and N . Clunk also occurs when car is turned off. My research from the site points towards a flex disc problem. What is the location of the rear flex disc. Any other diagnosis or am i on the right track? Thanks JM |

Just fore of the diff. Also, rear diff mounts are known to cause a clunk on these.
You seem to be on the right track thus far! I would also check the vacuum line to the transmission. Jonathan
