thanks for the responces! this is a 82 300D 5spd manual trans with a non turbo motor(euro model). i have yet to look at the stamp on the diff. to determine the ratio. if it is a 3.46 i'll install a 3.07. and if its a 3.07 maybe get one from an 85 300dt. didn't they switch rear ends for the 85 models?

Funny you should mention San Fransisco. my father, whose car it is, is actually moving back to tha bay area in a few months and wanted lower RPM's while on the HWY cross country. Funny!
