1996 e320 oil gusher!
My 96 e320 is spraying(?) oil from the back drivers side of the engine. I can't see it coming out, but there is oil all over the back of my car and under the carriage. I just had the head gasket replaced but this was one of the reasons why i brought my car in to be repaired. Oil is leaking at a rate of about 1 quart every 25 miles. Previous to having the head gasket replaced, my water pump sprang a leak, my engine temp shot up and down and then conked out. Now that the head gasket has been changed and the engine is running fine, I am wondering if this is part of the same problem or a problem that my mechanic should have fixed or known about before fixing the head gasket.

Hmmm, sounds like something may have been fouled in the reassembly. You need to take it back to your mechanic. By chance, the leak wouldn't happen to be coming from the oil fliter housing, would it? Maybe the little seal in there got torn or rolled over when screwing the cap on or something.

there are two half moon seals at the rear of the valve cover, check to make sure theyre both there and installed correctly. use a mirror.
