Question CLK Cabriolet Rollover safety system

My wife drives her CLK cabriolet like she's stolen it... The rollover safety system has deployed and the rear head restraints are therefore blocking out the majority of the rear window and the roof will no longer work. Can anybody tell me if it is possible to reset the system without a time consuming visit to my local MB dealer

will the restraint system lower using the rollbar down feature? what happens when the rollbar switch is pushed down?

If it is like a 99 CLK, push the headrest switch to "up" and continue holding for several seconds. I believe you hear a click. Then they will retract by going to the switch "down" position.

they are the same, i wanted to see if the pump was running, i have seen a few where the black cube relay on top of the hydraulic pump will fail, when that happens it sends the unit in to a failsafe up mode where roll bar is deployed, it usually will not lower until power is restored to the pump system

Hello, I have a 2003 LK CAB W208 and my rears are stuck in the up position also. I have tried unhooking battery, checked fuses, the cargo cover in trunk, holding the switch in every imaginable configuration, key on, running....everything but me standing on my head. Is there a way to reset these other than a dealer visit? Any ideas for me?
Thanks in advance.

...and according to the service department, the relay and pump are a single unit, so BOTH get replaced if there is a failure!

Set me back $2100 in parts and labor!
