94-95 E320: elegance vs. premium models
What are the differences between a 94-95 E320 in "Elegance" vs in "Premium" trim?
What is the "W" model designation? Thanks in advance ... |

I don't know if Mercedes-Benz had special versions done exclusively for Canada named as such. In that case I could not help you.
As far as I know, the W124 series only had two special designations: the "sportline" version, available worldwide from 1993 on and the "Special Edition" done at the last year of production for the U.S. market only. Classic, Elegance, Sport and Spirit designations were started with the W202 series. The W210 discarded the Spirit edition using only the other three.

The 95 E320 I picked up has: A) 5 slot wheels. B) Some sort of "Special" door jamb inserts that are embossed with "Mercedes Benz". C) Color is "Moonstone" which I have not seen on any other car.
The dealer said it was some sort of special edition. I know MB doesn't do "special" editions, but I do think there may be some trim level that came and went over only one or two years. |

Here is a pick of my E 320 T.
When my wagon was ordered it was specially fitted with M.B. six-hole Style B wheels and the color selected was moonstone grey, since it was the newest color offered on the color palette at the time of ordering. I remember that the "Special Edition" done during 1995 for the U.S. market had the same wheels and all magazines ads had the car featured in Moonstone grey (although I think this was just done because it was the newest color, not because it was just exclusive for Special Editions). If your car sports these features and even has the inserts, then it definitely is a Special Edition done for the last year of production for the U.S. (and Canada?). If I remember correctly, this Special Edition also featured an upgraded stereo system.

1995 Special Edition E320's all came with the 6 hole wheels, came fully loaded with just about everything, and had Burl wood instead of Zebrano.

I think the '95 also had polished aluminum rims too.
