Brakes locking up on 1987 300TD
After replacing some corroded lines and master cylinder, extensive bleeding, I have vacvuum for about one depression of the brake pedal, then very hard and no brakes. Also, the round warning light with dashed lines went on - rear brake pads/rotors just done - is this the front pad lite? The car runs great over 30mpg on a 175K car, but I would rather fix this myself if I can. Any help appreciated!

one depression sounds
like a vac issue. either lack of vac or a loose line. look for line first.
the light is the wear sensor, so you r front pads may be worn. tom w

Don't drive it anymore until the brake boost problem is fixed. As said above, it is probably going to be either a leak to the booster or the booster itself.
As far as the brake pad wear light, check the pads to see if they are above min thickess (2 mm). If not, replace them. If they are thick enough, check to see of the sensor is properly connected and there are no cuts in the sensor or wiring to the sensor.
