Replacing AMM - Is there also a PCV to replace?

I have the check engine light coming on with a P0170 code, which I have ordered a new Air Mass Meter for. Another post on this forum recommended also replacing the PCV valve.

The "Kompressor" engines from 1998-01 have PCV valves & UNDER hard acceleration they will pressurize the crankcase & push oil into the air intake area. THAT oil will damage the air mass sensor.

IF that is the case on your engine have the air mass sensor replaced AS well as the PCV valve & a special hose on the valve cover.

However, when I called my local dealer, they said that car does not have a PCV. Does anyone know what the part numbers that need to be replaced? Thanks,

Don

Does anyone know what to call it? Maybe it goes by a different name.

On my car ( see sign. below ), all I see is a vent, connected to the valvecover, that seems to lead into an oilseperator.
Have not looked any further at this point, to see if it could be called an actual PCV valve.

Thanks Manny, I think it might be the oil separator that the other post was calling the pcv. The dealer thought it had a similar function.

I got the new AMM today and started installing it. Ran into a bit of a surprise. There's a pool of foamy oil on the corner of the air cleaner where the oil separator tube is attached to the air cleaner box (see pictures). So, I'll be replacing the oil separator and the tube coming off toward the front of the car to the valve cover (it broke while I was taking it apart).

I'm still wondering what the other tube was that the other post was talking about. Maybe it's the one that I broke? Anyone know?

PS - Numbers on the parts are:

Oil separator - A1110180335
Hose from separator to valve cover - A1110181682

Thanks Arthur, that's the one I was guessing it to be. It's already on order. Actually, I broke it while removing it, so I had to replace it.
