Hello and welcome. The power window problem sounds like a switch, since the window will at least go one way. Did you also try using the switch on that door as well to see if it would work then?

The tranny may be weak, or you may simply need an adjustment and/or fluid-filter change. What exactly was it doing? Was it slipping? We will need more details about this. @ 168K, the tranny should not be worn out on this car if it was properly maintained.

The "oil burning" smell would not be surprising since the car sat for 2 years without being ran. The oil has seeped out over the years. If you run it often, it may stop, if the leak is minor- which it may be, but if the car has been setting that long, new ones may be in order.

I am sure more here will have more informative information than I have been able to give, especially about the tranny.

You also mentioned "high idle" in your topic, but I did not see any mention of it in your actual thread. I am sure someone else may have more info here as well.

Good luck!
