stranger lighting problem

Hi,Just bought a n 87 190e that the left front parking light and the left tail light stay on.When you start the car they both go off.Any help would be appriciated.Thanks,

Turn the headlight switch to off...ie:straight up/down. You have the standing lights acivated.

If you move the switch to the left you will find two detents, one activates the right side standing lights the other activates the left.

And it is set up so that they only can be turned on when the ignition is off.

stranger light problem

Hey guys thanks a million for the quick answer to my problem.The headlight switch did indeed turn the lights off.I feel like an idiot!!!!
