Hope you can solve your problem soon. I take the opportunity to ask you, hoping you know what I donīt: where does the tachometer cables land under the engine hood, when trespassing the firewall, coming from the instruments panel. I can see the cables going out from the tach (one is red and black and the other is green and yellow) but I cannot find them in the engine compartment, as they put all inside large plastic tubes.

I have the electric diagrams of the MB W124. However, the ones I have are too schematic, and donīt show wich cable is attached to each pin of any plug of the cables.

Have you discovered the whereabouts of the tach cables in the engine compartment? I need to find them to connect to a new diesel engine I installed.
