95 S420 dropped remote, now doesn't work

The key/remote of the S420 dropped and now it doesn't operate the locks. Tried to reset per the manual with no effect. Thoughts?

Thanks,
Sixto

The remote units on W140s usually are quite strong. I will try by removing the batteries and even fitting new ones. It wouldn't hurt and a small action like this one helps a lot.

When pressing the remote check the sending red lens on top and see if a small red diode blinks shortly. If it doesn't, then the remote key sender unit had it.

I dropped mine, and it didn't work after that either. I pulled it apart carefully, and saw that one of the terminals from the button had cracked slightly away from the circuit board. I resoldered, and it works again.
